For Key Stage 3 students, Cloughside College offers a robust curriculum that follows the national standards. We collaborate with home schools to access their schemes of work and online portals, maintaining alignment with their educational progress. In the absence of a home school, such as for home-schooled students or those who are NEET, we adhere strictly to the national curriculum, providing a broad and balanced education. All subject areas have key stage three curriculums attached (see example curriculum maps section)
Our Key Stage 3 curriculum aims to build foundational knowledge, foster confidence, and encourage positive social interactions, which are crucial for students' mental health and personal development.
At Key Stage 4, our curriculum is designed to prepare students for their GCSEs and other qualifications. We work closely with home schools to ensure that students have access to the same resources and support as their peers. For those without a home school, we follow examination board specifications to provide a comprehensive education. All subject areas have key stage four curriculums attached (see example curriculum maps section)
We also offer a functional skills pathway for students where GCSEs may not be suitable. This pathway focuses on practical skills essential for everyday life and work, ensuring all students have opportunities for success and progression.
For Key Stage 5 students, Cloughside College offers diverse pathways to cater to different interests and career goals. We collaborate with colleges to provide access to a wide range of subjects and qualifications, facilitating a smooth transition to further education or employment. For NEET students, we offer structured programs that align with examination board specifications. Removed reference to curriculum maps
